Across the Black Diaspora and its history, Black folks dance to experience pleasure and connection. From Caribbean Carnival–the creative and artistic expression of dispossessed people–to weddings to funerals, we lose ourselves in the moment, shifting our bodies to our cultural rhythms and communing with our ancestors.
Come Dance With Me is a visual archive in the form of a short film, documenting and exploring the stories of dance in the Black Diaspora across history, centering gender and sexuality-marginalized folks.
